Kafka On The Shore

This book was beautifully written, and very fascinating, but just too weird and disconnected. I have no idea what actually happened in it, and no explanation was given for a lot of the events that occurred. Also, way too much sex. There was not that much sexual interaction needed for the plot of the story.

We LOVE Billie B Brown...Perfect for quick family read alouds, or assisted beginner reads. We like guessing what the 'B' stands for in each book. In this one, we were proud of Billie for making the right decision to protect Jack's feelings & make a new friend in the process!

The Underground Railroad
by Colson Whitehead

This story starts out with life of a slave girl name Cora, who is even considered an outcast amongst her fellow African slaves-- runs away and begins a terrifying journey on an actual railroad. This was a surprise because I assumed it was metaphorical like the real "underground railroad" was. I would love to say I loved this book, and in some respect it did. It was very well written, and therefore the horrors of slave life are very strongly accounted for. If you have a vivid story mind like mine, the details of the torcher and abuse was very hard to digest.

Wonder Woman Tempest Tossed

It's a really good graphic novel about the refugee experience, teenage activism, fighting against gentrification and creating change in your community. It's such an easy read and could easily be made into a feature film. I recommend this read to everyone. So good!

I really like Civil War on Sunday. My favorite part was when they picked up the soldiers in the ambulance. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes history.

Wow! I’ve seen the movie many times, but the book is soooo much more detailed. The descriptive narrative is absolutely beautiful, and makes it easy to imagine.

One Temptation

A good story but very predictable. It does have some explicit sex scenes so it may not be great for everyone. It was good but not good enough for me to want to read the second book.
