Billie B Brown The Second-Best Friend
by Sally Rippin

book cover

We LOVE Billie B Brown...Perfect for quick family read alouds, or assisted beginner reads. We like guessing what the 'B' stands for in each book. In this one, we were proud of Billie for making the right decision to protect Jack's feelings & make a new friend in the process!

White Fragility

I recommend this book to white readers looking for a starting point in their education about anti-black racism and our role in it. I'm sure there are many other excellent points of entry, but for me, this is a great start for a person trying to understand our bias a white people. This reads a little like a text book, which makes the content easy to read.

Wild Ride

This is an erotic romance that will rev your engine. From the beginning you can tell where it will lead but it is very worth the read. Lots of different types of love in this one so not for the prudish.

The Jetsetters

Wanted to like this book even tho it was obvious from the beginning it was a fluff book. The characters were all over the board and I found myself not caring much about the outcome.

The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue

The novel was good, not great. It definitely meanders at times. The characters feel underdeveloped and the plot doesn't really move that quickly. It is a clever idea for a story. The author's writing is quite descriptive, so if you enjoy that, this is worth a read.

The Bishops Pawn Steve Berry

I found this one harder to get into than previous books in the series. The story was very interesting but they’re going back in time and listening to all the old tape recordings just started to bore me. The storyline was great I just feel that the book could have been shorter. Definitely not his action packed as previous stories.

The second in a series but could be read stand alone, this cute little romance if for the nerds. Both characters deal with conflicts that draw you in. I love catching up with the friends from the first book. One to book three now.

Sundown Towns

I did not realize how many towns existed across the U.S. I was also concerned that they lasted for so long.
