This book takes place after the Jacobite revolution when Scotland begins to leave the times of clan alliances and reiving. An unlikely pairing the protagonists battle society and their own selves to realize the inevitable. A great historical fiction.

A modern day pride and prejudice? Not even close. Gosh I don’t know why I slogged through this book. It really was pretty shallow and I found myself not caring how it ended!

Where The Crawdads Sing

I mostly enjoyed this book. I thought Kya "Marsh Girl" was a resilient character and Tate was a compassionate character, but was disappointed by the ending. I also thought that the poems sprinkled throughout the book were too much in some of the chapters. Owens was very descriptive in her writing and I could vividly picture the setting. Overall I enjoyed the book until the last chapter.

Kafka On The Shore

This book was beautifully written, and very fascinating, but just too weird and disconnected. I have no idea what actually happened in it, and no explanation was given for a lot of the events that occurred. Also, way too much sex. There was not that much sexual interaction needed for the plot of the story.

Great story. Patterson has added another author to his crew

I liked that this book has a lot of cute animals in it. If you like animals, this book is for you. My favorite part was when the Little Fox talked to the Otter.

The King Maker

This book was a fantastic mix of Romance, Native American Activism, and straight up ugly Capitalism. The main characters (Nix and Maxim) are fantastically well written and developed. The author really must have done a lot of research for this story, and she was very good at finding a topic that is very relatable to what is happening today without, completely mirroring real situations. I jumped right in to the sequel!

The Cat Who Could Read Backwards

I quite enjoyed the cat in this book. It was a nice quick read. The mystery wasn't the most interesting and am not fond of the result. Though, the interesting characters and town are enough of a reason to keep reading. Also, a very intelligent feline.

We LOVE Billie B Brown...Perfect for quick family read alouds, or assisted beginner reads. We like guessing what the 'B' stands for in each book. In this one, we were proud of Billie for making the right decision to protect Jack's feelings & make a new friend in the process!
